Whatever you sow you will reap

In Judges 1:15 the Bible talk about Adoni-Bezek, A Canaanite King who was pursued by the children of Israel.  When he was captured they cut off his thumbs and big toes.  Adoni-Bezek exclaimed, “Seventy Kings with their thumbs and big toes cut off used to gather scraps under my table, as I have done, so God has repaid me.” Because God is patient, many people nowadays think that they are getting away with wrong doing.  However, God’s patience must never be mistaken for His approval.  For the Bible clearly states in Galatians 6:7 “Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A…

All great changes are preceded by chaos

“Snakes shed their skin to allow for further growth and to remove parasites that may have attached to their old skin.  A snake sheds anywhere from a couple of times a week to once a year depending on its size, age and health. The entire shedding process lasts for several weeks. The skin begins to turn dull and gray when a snake is preparing to shed.  Snakes are uncharacteristically aggressive during this time because of their vulnerable state.  Rough objects are commonly used to assist in the shedding process; it uses the rough object to anchor the old skin as it does…

There will always be a resurrection

In the book ‘The Dream Giver’ Bruce Wilkinson said, “But the time will come when God asks you to surrender the dream itself; He will ask you to take a very tangible step to seal your decision.  That could be selling or giving something away, signing a contract, moving or even resigning.” braham was asked to take a tangible step to sacrifice Isaac. The fact that Abraham was willing to sacrifice his son showed that he has placed his faith in God.  Abraham said to himself; if it was necessary God would resurrect Isaac from the dead. When Abraham was…

HOLD ON TIGHTLY TO THE GIVER AND LOOSEN YOUR GRIP ON THE GIFT

The story is told of The Shunammite woman who was very kind to Elisha.  In return for her kindness Elisha asked her what he could do for her.  The Shunammite woman said she desired nothing.  But the truth is she desires nothing because she was contented with her life and I would imagine given up on her hope of having a child.  Elisha knew otherwise and despite her objection he prayed that the Shunammite woman would conceive and surely she did and gave birth to a son. At the age of 12 the boy died.   In bitter distress The…

Flattery

Proverbs 29:5-6 “A person who flatters his neighbour is spreading a net for him to step into. To an evil person sin is bait in a trap, but a righteous person runs away from it and is glad.”   ecently a lady walked up to me and started to admire the shiny bracelet I had on my hand. Then she went on to tell me that I look like someone who is fashionable and that she could get me VIP pass to attend an event with her and that I would be an ideal candidate to model brand name items that her company would…

GIVE GOD THE BROKEN PIECES

There are no appropriate adjectives to describe how it feels to have a broken heart.  Only those who have experienced it truly understand the pain.  Hearts are broken as a result of many reasons such as the death of a loved one, betrayal, and the end of a relationship.  As far as I know there are no medicines or physical treatments that are available to heal a broken heart. No wonder the Lord makes it a priority to be close to the broken-hearted  because He knows He is the only one who can heal this type of wound . …

YIELD TO THE PROCESS

Have you ever notice that when you are hurrying you seem to make a mess of things, no wonder it is said that “haste make waste?” It may sound like a cliche’ but anything worthwhile in life takes time. When we rush we tend to miss important details. Slow down, do not manipulate the situation, thing or person. In the right time if it is meant to be things will fall into place. Yield to the process. If you were to lose it all would you continue to serve God?

Almost anyone can worship God in the good times. Satan said to God, Job serves you because he is prosperous, healthy and has a good family. “Would Job worship you if he got nothing out of it?” (Job 1:9) The same challenge stands today, if you were to lose it all would you continue to serve God? None of us like difficulties, often times when we are faced with adversity many of us ask God why he would allow bad things to happen to His people. But if we worship God because everything in our lives is perfect then…

VENGEANCE BELONGS TO GOD

t feels unfair, you want to take matters into your own hands. Why does it feel he/she is getting away with the hurtful thing that was done. “Dear friends, never take revenge. Leave that to the righteous anger of God. For the Scriptures say, “I will take revenge; I will pay them back,” says the LORD. (Rms 12:19) Remember God’s word will not return unto Him void but will accomplish that which it sets out to do. God works with time and season. Trust Him. Uldean

Know when to let go

ot’s wife looked back and got stuck when she turned into a pillar of salt. The rest of the family did not and entered into a new land and a new life. The choice is ours to be like Lot’s wife or the rest of the family. It is the same situation only different choices! We can continue to look back on what we have lost or move forward and build a new life.  Choose to get better, not bitter! Uldean
